Our Story
Huntington's Hope is a project of the Good Samaritan Society-Specialty Care Community in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. One of a select few residences of its kind in the nation, the Specialty Care Community has over 20-years of experience in meeting the unique needs of people with Huntington's disease. It works in close partnership with the Huntington's Disease Center of Excellence at Hennepin County Medical Center. Through Huntington's Hope, the SCC seeks to expand its support of people with HD and their families.
The Specialty Care Community is part of The Good Samaritan Society, the nation's largest not-for-profit provider of senior and specialty care and services. Its mission is to provide shelter and services to older persons, and others in need, believing that "In Christ's love, everyone is someone."
Huntington’s Hope was created to raise post-secondary education scholarship money for the children of parents with Huntington’s disease. The organization hopes to raise $1 million in 2013 with 100 percent* of Huntington’s disease donations going directly into an endowment fund to create these scholarships. If your life has been made better because of education, please support those who may otherwise never get that chance. To help make a difference in someone’s life, please DONATE NOW. Donations of $10 and $20 add up quickly and will provide the financial foundation for Huntington’s Hope. We need to reach that $25,000 level so we can begin disbursing scholarships! Thank you!
